szkoda Randy Johnsona, ale tak jak wielokrotnie zapowiadał - 300 zwycięstw i emerytura.

Z kolei Matt Holliday zostaje w zespole St. Louis Cardinals. Obie strony doszły do porozumienia w sprawie mega kontraktu - 7 lat i gwarantowane 120 milionów dolarów. Co prawda, ostateczne potwierdzenie kontraktu nastąpi dopiero po testach fizycznych zawodnika, jednak wydają się one być wyłącznie formalnością, bowiem obie strony są pewne, że kontrakt zostanie dopięty w ciągu najbliższych 48 godzin.

Tom Glavine długo się wachał nad zawieszeniem swojej sportowej kariery w MLB, w poprzednim sezonie miał jeszcze nadzieję, że wystąpi w kilkunastu spotkaniach, to sie jednak nie udało. Miesiąc temu powiedział:

W czwartek Atlanta Braves oficjalnie ogłosiła, że 43 letni old-timer przechodzi na zawodniczą emeryturę, ale nie żegna sie z MLB, gdyż będzie asystentem prezydenta Braves - Johna Schuerholza, jak również będzie komentatorem 13stu spotkań dla Fox Sports South.



Glavine was 305-203 with a 3.54 ERA from 1987-08, winning 20 games or more five times in 17 seasons with the Braves and spending five years with the New York Mets. He was a 10-time All-Star, won the NL Cy Young Award with Atlanta in 1991 and 1998 and helped the Braves win the 1995 World Series.
